The last post of the year is with the actor and director Matthew Modine.
During his thirty-year carrier he alternated dramatic and comedy roles, often collaborating with indipendent productions and directors. The debut is marked by Robert Altman’s creativity but other important names endorsed his talent form Alan Parker to Abel Ferrara up to Stanley Kubrick that wanted him as Private Joker, the central character of  the Vietnam war movie Full Metal Jacket. Over the past few years, he has directed several distinguished short films, premiered at prestigious festivals including Sundance, Museum of Modern Art’s New Directors/New Films, and the Tribeca Film Festival. Today he opens the doors of his house and tells us some curiosities…

I have a house. It is a “row” house. So it is not detached.

Open space or separated rooms? 
It has separate rooms.

Floor materials? 
Wood floors.

White or coloured wall?
White walls with “Venician” plaster.

Minimalist or sumptuous style? Furniture/design object I am most proud of… 
The house is modern with arts and crafts furniture.

The corner of the house i prefer… 
Like most homes, the best place to gather and be with family and friends is the kitchen.

Looking out the window i see…
A wisteria vine that covers the house.

L’ultima intervista dell’anno è rivolta all’attore e regista Matthew Modine.
Nella sua carriera trentennale ha alternato ruoli drammatici a commedie, spesso collaborando con produzioni e registi indipendenti. Il debutto è segnato dalla creatività di Robert Altman ma altri nomi importanti hanno valorizzato il suo talento da Alan Parker a Abel Ferrara fino a Stanley Kubrick che lo chiamò per interpretare il soldato Joker nel film sulla guerra del Vietnam Full Metal Jacket. Negli ultimi anni ha diretto diversi cortometraggi presentati in importanti festivals quali il Sundance, il Museum of Modern Art’s New Directors/New Films e il Tribeca. Oggi ci apre le porte della sua abitazione raccontandoci qualche curiosità.

Ho un palazzo. È un edificio “a schiera”. Non è quindi isolato.

Open space o ambienti separati? 
Ambienti separati.

Pavimento in…?
Pavimento in legno.

Pareti bianche o colorate?
Pareti bianche con stucco “veneziano”.

Stile minimalista o sontuoso? Elementi di arredo/design di cui vado maggiormente fiero…
Lo stile della casa è moderno con oggetti di artigianato.

L’angolo della casa che preferisco… 
Come nella maggior parte delle case il luogo migliore per riunirsi e stare con la famiglia e gli amici è la cucina.

Mi affaccio alla finestra e vedo…
Un glicine rampicante che ricopre il palazzo.
